  • You might not expect Mormon missionaries, in pressed white shirts, ties, and dress pants, to contest challengers in a pickup basketball game. You'd be wrong, at least when it comes to Brett Miyasaki and Zach Lambson. Both seasoned basketball players, they were doing missionary work in the Atlanta area when two other teens challenged them to a game. What resulted was the best of what sports can be. The match brought together two groups of disparate economic and cultural backgrounds, and all parties (and some onlookers) seemed to have a rollicking good time.

Aside from the competitive jawing on the court, it is clear that what we are seeing is a group of kids, despite differences, enjoying a game. And while the comments on YouTube stress the unique nature of seeing LDS missionaries playing ball in their black-and-white outfits ("in dress shoes wow,""wow the elder got game"), it seems that one of the challengers found the video and posted a comment. A user named Kevin Thomas wrote, "when

  • You all know the story of Goldilocks and the three bears. Well, today's story is a twist on that famous tale. The MacDonough family in Naples, Florida, had an unexpected guest over to their enclosed patio. An approximately eight-foot black bear broke through the screened-in pool area during a rainstorm. This video was shot from inside the home by a frightened babysitter taking care of the MacDonoughs' children. The bear spent about an hour hanging out on the MacDonoughs' property and appeared to fall asleep. Then, it just got up and walked off. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission says the bear was looking for a dry place to take a nap but did not appear to be afraid of humans. Given that the bear could threaten the lives of people in the area, a trap was set by the Florida fish and wildlife authorities to capture it. Once it's captured, the FWC says the bear will have to be euthanized. That's troubling news for Alice MacDonough, who says of her uninvited houseguest, "This is their

  • A U.S. Army soldier in Afghanistan is getting a lot of attention for something more than his incredible bravery and service to his country. Paul Ieti released this moving cover of Etta James' classic song "At Last." Take a look and a listen here, and try not to get the chills.

Ieti uploaded the video to YouTube, where it has raked in nearly 50,000 views so far.We expect that number to climb to the outstanding heights that Ieti's first viral video reached. You might recall his cover of Rihanna's "Stay" that has been viewed nearly a half-million times since July. Check it out here. Other fan favorites on Ieti's YouTube page are his renditions of"So Sick" by Ne-Yo and "If I Ain't Got You" by Alicia Keys.

  • Users on Tumblr are experts at doctoring newspaper cartoons to give them a new, often darker, flair. There is " Garfield Minus Garfield," which removes the orange cat, leaving his owner, Jim, sad, aloneand sometimes out of his mind. There's also the nihilistic interpretation of "The Family Circus," "The Nietzsche Family Circus."

There's a new Sunday-Funny hack on the block, and it's called "This Charming Charlie." It harnesses the raw emotion found in "Peanuts" strips and combines it with the similarly effusive lyrics of the band the Smiths, and it is great.

The blog is a project of Lauren LoPrete, who is a graphic designer in the San Francisco Bay Area. She also co-runs a record label called Loglady.

Charlie Brown's down-in-the-dumps attitude is portrayed well with lyrics such as, "Last night I dreamt that somebody loved me." Lucy's anger is represented well with, "I am human, and I need to be loved just like everybody else does."

There are already many examples live on Tumblr to

  • You've seen them before. Couples, out on dates or hanging out at home or, you know, wherever, snapping photos of each other with sweet captions. And don't get me wrong, it can be sweet and cute — but sometimes it inspires groans, or even downright jealousy from single folks. For the envious out there, one Instagram user has the perfect, and possibly creepiest, solution. Keisuke Jinushi has mastered the art of making what is essentially a selfie look like a photo of someone spending time with the one he or she loves.

Jinushi's technique is basic but pretty hilarious. He puts light foundation on his right hand, paints his nails, and puts a frilly scrunchy on his wrist. Voilà, instant female hand. Then, inserting that hand into the selfies he is taking, he is able to create the illusion of someone feeding him treats, pinching his cheeks, and drawing on him in his sleep. He even details how he achieves these photos on his blog[YI2] . Check out his Instagram account yourself if you want a
