  • Pugs Star in Parody of 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes'

Imagine a place where pugnacious pugs rule the world. The latest big-screen installment of "Planet of the Apes" has garnered good reviews . But it's also spawned a short blockbuster on the Web from the Pet Collective, the same group that brought us furry and fashionable memes, a "World Pup" series, as well as various four-legged friends chilling to pop rhythms.

In the YouTube video imitating "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes," the human race may fall because of pug cuteness overload. Finding a new, genetically evolved man's best friend leads to all the pugs in the forest coming out to play, or pounce. (Well, maybe not at first; check out the outtakes.)

Apes, you just got pugged. Happy viewing!

  • We don't live in the prehistoric age. Dinosaurs don't exist anymore. So why did Steven Spielberg kill a triceratops?

Turns out lots of non-"Jurassic Park" fans on Facebook didn't realize that Jay Branscomb was joking when he posted a "disgraceful" photo of a "despicable man" — namely director Steven Spielberg — posing with a poached triceratops. It's been shared over 30,000 times! One Facebook commenter who was in the dark about the animal's extinction wrote, "Disgusting! I bet he only kept the horns!"

Earlier this month, a Texas cheerleader uploaded pictures from an actual hunting trip in Africa on Facebook. Kendall Jones caused an uproar, beaming next to animal carcasses. Those game pics were aptly removed by Facebook.

As for Spielberg's still from the movie shoot, it's still going around social circles. So, is common comedic sense extinct? Share your thoughts with us on Facebook or Twitter.

  • Hey, girl.

Actually, the guy in this video is Matt Bittner, actor and sound designer. His friend recorded him between shifts at The Ride, an interactive New York City tour bus. So exciting!

The video was featured on Reddit's front page and garnered more than 4,000 upvotes in just 15 hours. One redditor said, "Man I want to learn how to do this just to totally creep my wife out." Another redditor said, "Now I feel bad for Manti Te'o I would fall for this."

Bittner tweeted earlier Thursday about his surprise.

Yup, if you close your eyes, you wouldn't know the difference.

Bittner tells us Trending it's been his lifelong dream to do cartoon voiceover work. He played a girl in an all-male cast during college, and hence the character behind "girl voice" was born.

At the urging of Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong, Kerry sat down with an acoustic guitar for some nation-building finger picking, playing several bars of an unidentified tune after a lunch at the Great Hall of the People, part of the 5th annual U.S.-China People-to-People Exchange.

Kerry delighted a small group of diplomats, who called for the 70-year-old to play some more. The secretary of shred obliged, ending his encore with a traditional American rock-n-roll move: a major-chord ending.

The impromptu performance was captured on cellphone video and posted to the State Department's YouTube channel.
