Camera-shy chimp hits drone out of the sky

A chimp in a Dutch zoo wasn’t a big fan of a drone buzzing above his home, so he took matters into his own hands and promptly swatted it out of the sky.

Researchers at the Burgers’ Zoo in the Netherlands were operating the drone to observe the apes’ behavior.

“[The] intelligent apes discovered the spying plane … and the animals immediately armed themselves with long sticks against the prying electronic intruder.... With a direct hit the animal hit the drone down ... and completely destroyed [it],” the zoo explained on its YouTube page.

The video was posted to YouTube on Friday and has since been seen more than 950,000 times.

Turns out chimps don’t like being spied on either!
