Watch this colorblind dad see his kids and the world around him in color for the first time

Opie Hughes has been colorblind his whole life and has never been able to truly experience color. But thanks to a pair of unique glasses, all of that has changed.

When Opie’s kids gave him a gift, he had no idea what was in store. Hidden inside a box, inside a box, inside bubble pack, inside a case was a pair of EnChroma glasses. These special glasses have colorblindness-correcting lenses that allow the user to fully take in all of the colors around them.

Opie’s sister Katherine Empey captured the incredible moment when her brother first put the glasses on and was able to see his surroundings in full color.

Needless to say, Opie was pretty overwhelmed by the experience and broke down in tears as he took in the vibrant new world around him.
