GoPro captures its own fall from 10,000 feet

GoPro videos of skydivers in free fall are all the rage, but this latest skydiving video is a little different.

It starts off normally enough, with a group of skydivers preparing to exit a plane. But then midway through the jump, the GoPro is kicked off a skydiver’s helmet.

The GoPro then continues the jump solo — spiraling about 10,000 feet before hitting the ground!

The camera and the footage miraculously survived the fall and were recently found in a field in Sweden.

YouTube user Kristoffer Örstadius’ says his father found the camera and speculated that it could have been in the field for years.

Örstadius uploaded the video to YouTube on April 3, in hopes of finding the camera’s owner. Over just a few days, the video went viral, with more than 1 million views.

But the story doesn’t end there! The GoPro owner, Tobias Persson, a resident of Everod, Sweden, came forward just one day after Örstadius’ post and has been reunited with his camera.
