Hotel Goes Above and Beyond to Return Lost Elmo to 5-Year-Old

Ever lose something on vacation and fear you'll never get it back? That's exactly what happened to 5-year-old Ainsley Giorgio when she lost her Elmo doll while on vacation with her family in Florida. Ainsley was devastated, but not for long.

Nelson Quesada, an employee of the Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island, found the toy. But he didn't simply return Elmo; he actually created a scrapbook documenting Elmo's adventures at the beachside resort. Elmo is pictured lounging by the pool, working out in the fitness center, playing video games, and relaxing with his stuffed-animal friends before making his way back to Orlando, where the Giorgio family lives.

Ainsley's mother, Raquel, said, "Nobody goes above and beyond anymore in this high-tech world. And this guy, Nelson, at the Ritz, not only returned Elmo to us, and actually found him, but made a book that Ainsley will have for the rest of her life."

Little Ainsley was not the first stuffed animal owner to get her lost toy returned to her. In May, the same hotel's Loss Prevention Team located a little boy's wayward stuffed giraffe, known as Joshie. The family was shocked when the hotel not only found Joshie but sent him back to them along with some Ritz-branded goodies and a binder of photographs of Joshie's stay at the hotel. The young boy's father went on to say how grateful he was for what the hotel had done.

Talk about putting on the ritz!
