You might not expect Mormon missionaries, in pressed white shirts, ties, and dress pants, to contest challengers in a pickup basketball game. You'd be wrong, at least when it comes to Brett Miyasaki and Zach Lambson. Both seasoned basketball players, they were doing missionary work in the Atlanta area when two other teens challenged them to a game. What resulted was the best of what sports can be. The match brought together two groups of disparate economic and cultural backgrounds, and all parties (and some onlookers) seemed to have a rollicking good time.
Aside from the competitive jawing on the court, it is clear that what we are seeing is a group of kids, despite differences, enjoying a game. And while the comments on YouTube stress the unique nature of seeing LDS missionaries playing ball in their black-and-white outfits ("in dress shoes wow,""wow the elder got game"), it seems that one of the challengers found the video and posted a comment. A user named Kevin Thomas wrote, "when you coming back out here man? aha I wanna rematch." We aren't sure if the rematch will happen, but at least they're still buds.
