New beauty trend: Women lighting hair on fire

In what we are personally going to label “the worst beauty advice of the summer,” women are setting fire to hair. Literally.
 
This is an actual trend, not an Internet spoof.
 
It is called Velaterapia. A Brazilian hair treatment, it consists of twisting sections of hair and burning off split ends with a candle. This allegedly cauterizes the damaged ends ands retains the hairs moisture.
 
Victoria's Secret models Alessandra Ambrosia and Barbara Fialho have posted endorsements for this to their Instagram accounts.
 
For just $200 a treatment, you can look just like them! ... Or bald.
