Notre Dame releases video responding to Indiana’s ‘religious freedom’ law

An athletic program is fighting mad about Indiana’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act and is speaking out — and it’s a school right in Gov. Mike Pence’s own backyard.

Notre Dame released a video in response to the controversial law, and the school’s message is clear: “If you can play, you can play” regardless of your sexual orientation.

The school is not the only Indiana-based institution to speak out — the NCAA, which is based in Indianapolis, has also protested the act:

“We’re going to have to sit down and make judgments about whether or not [the RFRA] changes the environment for us doing our work, and us holding events,” NCAA President Mark Emmert told the Indianapolis Star. “We’re deeply committed to the whole notion of inclusion. We have a very diverse membership.”
