See Twin Baby Pandas' First 100 Days on Video

The birth of rare twin baby giant pandas at Zoo Atlanta made quite a stir when they were born back in July. Earlier this month, when they turned 100 days old, they were finally given names, Mei Lun and Mei Huan. But the best part? The Zoo recently released a video on its YouTube page showing the incredible progress of their first 100 days. Check out the cuteness here:

One commenter on YouTube wondered if the cubs would be better off receiving care from their mother. Zoo Atlanta responded by writing “In the wild, giant panda moms typically care for only one cub when twins are born. Thus, it is normal in the wild for only one of the twins to survive.” Before the adorable video was posted, fans of Mei Lun and Mei Huan were to able to check in on their growth by viewing their webcam on the zoo’s website. They were amazingly the first surviving set of twin giant panda cubs to be born in the United States.

Another baby that was documented as she grew up was human Baby Lotte. She starred in a viral time-lapse video that went from birth to 12 years old. Baby Lotte’s father Frans Hofmeester filmed his daughter once a week every week and strung the videos together for the incredible effect. The video raked in more than 4,000,000 views on YouTube!
