Yahoo! Answers is a website that gives users an opportunity to ask questions and get answers and feedback from other users. Over the weekend, one user who was seeking help on a book report received feedback from an unexpected source: the book's author. A yet-to-be-identified high school student asked, "Can someone cover the book 'The Boy Who Couldn't Sleep and Never Had To' to me?"

In the post, the user explained why she had not been able to complete the reading: She's a slow reader, the library was being remodeled, the book was already on hold for someone else, and she was too busy. D.C. Pierson, the book's author, told Yahoo! News that he had set up alerts on his computer to go off any time he or his book was mentioned online. His response to the teen: "First off, I'm really excited that my book is being suggested for summer reading. On the other hand, I'm bummed out that you don't want to try and finish it, and not even because you think it's bad, but just because it seems like work instead of like fun."

The book is about a teenage outcast who becomes friends with a guy who never sleeps. When people become aware of his unusual condition, the two friends are forced to go on the run.

Pierson offered some creative suggestions for how the teen could finish his book: Read the book aloud for an hour a night, or gather a group of friends from school and take turns reading.

So far, the teen has not responded to Pierson.
