Trampoline Bridge Design Could Have You Jumping for Joy

There are 30 bridges over the Seine in Paris, and French design firm Atelier Zundel Cristea just came up with a whimsical design for one more. Instead of driving, walking, running, or biking across this bridge, travelers would bounce their way to the other side. AZC's concept calls for three giant inflatable rings with a netted trampoline in the center. Each ring would measure almost 100 feet across and be filled with 3,700 cubic meters of air.

Although it sounds like a great morning commute, it's unlikely the bridge will ever be built. As Business Insider notes, it could pop or people could fall off. Plus, the insurance alone would likely cost a fortune. As one commenter put it, "Tons of fun. They would just need paramedics at either end for all the broken bones." Paramedics might also be needed for the new concept architecture firm Skidmore, Owings & Merill proposed for New York City: a hovering pedestrian "doughnut" over Grand Central Station.
