Two Stunning Videos Become Web Sensations

Two time-warping Web videos have people watching in amazement. The first was shot by filmmaker Cy Kuckenbaker. He created a video of airplanes landing at San Diego International Airport, but it's not as simple as it sounds. It appears that multiple planes are landing at once, but the video is actually a 30-second condensed version of five hours of landings. Kuckenbaker filmed the airplanes on the busiest shopping day of the year -- Black Friday. He said he was inspired by a photograph taken by Korean artist Ryu HoYeol in 2005.

Kuckenbaker's video has been viewed more than 376,000 times on vimeo, and it was only uploaded two days ago. Most of the reviews are positive, with many people calling the video awesome, while some compliment Kuckenbaker's active imagination in editing the video and others simply question how he accomplished it.

Kuckenbaker told a lot of the details of how he created his masterpiece to PetaPixel, including that he filmed the planes between 10:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. and he was surprised by the number of planes that landed in that time period, (about 70), and the dominance of Southwest Airlines outnumbering the others.

The second video of the day is a time-lapse capturing of fall foliage in New York City. Jamie Scott filmed the trees in Central Park changing color as the season changes. Scott chose 15 locations throughout the park and shot the images just after sunrise. When Scott posted the video to his vimeo page, he wrote, "One of the most striking things about New York City is the fall colors and there's no better place to view this than Central Park."

This is definitely the time of year for capturing some awe-inspiring fall images, some places just have a lot more to choose from than others.
