Ninjas and Notebooks and Drones, Oh My! The Terrifying Future of 'Parks and Rec' [Video]

Are you ready for the future? Last season's Parks and Recreation finale ended with a three-year time jump, and this clip gives us a quick glimpse at what the future holds. Will there be hover boards? An adorable Internet cat president? Will Jerry finally get a little respect?

Clearly, the answer is no to all three. In the teaser, Leslie is freaked out to see a drone at her and Ben's front door. "Take my hand! Let's get into bed like The Notebook!" It looks like the sort of drone that Amazon has been experimenting with as a delivery device, so it probably doesn't merit the romantic (and pretty drastic) dying-in-bed-together scenario she's referencing from the Nicholas Sparks story.

Tom says, "I'm a mogul now!" Though, knowing Tom, we should probably take that pronouncement with a grain of salt. Andy has his own television show now, apparently based on the Johnny Karate character he was doing for kids' birthday parties when last we saw him. Jerry, sorry, Terry, looks like he's playing a mailman version of himself in that show (who also gets no respect).

April is using a fancy tablet and scanning what appears to be some dog-based social network. Most unbelievably, it looks like she's reading a slow-cooker recipe book. April Ludgate cooking? That is an unbelievable future.

There's only a brief moment of Ron, so we'll have to wait for the season premiere to find out what's happened to him. NBC will be airing two episodes every Tuesday up until the one-hour finale on February 24.

Parks and Recreation premieres Jan. 13 at 8 p.m. on NBC.
