Barbara Bush poses for Terry Richardson fashion spread

Former First Daughter Barbara Bush has kept a low profile since her father left the White House nearly two years ago. But the 28-year-old recently posed for celebrity photographer Terry Richardson in a '70s-inspired photo shoot of New York socialites for an upcoming issue of V Magazine.

Bush, who runs a public health charity in New York, channels Ali McGraw in a pair of navy blue bell bottoms and a white button-down shirt — though she confesses in an interview to holding "a soft spot" for the looks that Stevie Nicks and Anjelica Huston adopted in the '70s. Among the other socialites posing for the magazine: designer Rachel Roy, Tinsley Mortimer's sister Minnie, and Shoshanna Gruss, a designer perhaps most famous for once dating Jerry Seinfeld.

With some exceptions, Bush has kept largely out of the spotlight since her father left office. Earlier this year, she appeared on Oprah with her mother, former First Lady Laura Bush, and sister, Jenna Bush Hager, who is now a special correspondent for NBC's "Today" show:

And Barbara Bush founded Global Health Corps earlier this year to train young professionals to work in the United States and in AIDS-ravaged areas of East Africa.

The Bush girls aren't the only First Kids to enjoy some semblance of celebrity after their parents have left the White House. Gerald Ford's son Steven became an actor, famously playing Meg Ryan's boyfriend in "When Harry Met Sally." During his father's last term in office, Ron Reagan Jr. hosted "Saturday Night Live" and later went on to have his own late-night talk show. More recently, Chelsea Clinton's wedding made the front cover of People magazine.
