Laura Bush: Jenna, Barbara leaned on each other

Former first lady Laura Bush says that her twin daughters, Jenna and Barbara, leaned on each other during a sometimes difficult adolescence.

In an exclusive Yahoo! News/ABC News interview at the Women's Conference 2010, Bush opened up about her daughters' first day of seventh grade at a new school after their father was elected Texas' governor. Bush said she watched them walk up to the building talking to each other in an attempt to "look confident."

"They were really lucky under the circumstances to have somebody to be with always. ... It's not easy to be the child of a political leader," Bush said.

Bush also mentioned that her daughters traveled to D.C. to help her give Michelle Obama and daughters Sasha and Malia a tour of the White House and show the girls the layout of their new bedrooms. Bush said she wanted to make the family see that "it is a home" where one can still have "the same normal chaos of a family ... even though you're in that beautiful and magnificent house."
