Sharron Angle sends Joy Behar flowers after ‘View’ outburst

Joy Behar, the vocal liberal co-host of ABC's "The View," slammed Republican Senate hopeful Sharron Angle on Tuesday, as the show's hosts discussed the candidate's ominous campaign ad in Nevada attacking incumbent Majority Leader Harry Reid's positions on immigration. "I'd like to see her do this ad in the South Bronx," Behar said. "Come here bitch! Come to New York and do it."

Behar kept the attack going on today's "View" broadcast as well. She again called Angle a "bitch" and also accusing her of running "racist ads."

Angle, however, seems to be taking the criticism in stride. Today, she sent over flowers with the following greeting: "Joy, raised $150,000 online yesterday, thanks for your help. Sincerely, Sharron Angle."

Republican candidates have long tried running against the media — for example, the 1992 Bush campaign even had bumper stickers reading, "Annoy the Media: Re-elect Bush."

And things aren't so much different in 2010. In addition to Angle, Republican Senate candidates Marco Rubio and Christine O'Donnell have each tried raising money by going after liberal MSNBC host Rachel Maddow.
