Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin recently bought a new house in McLean, Va., that is huge, secluded, and expensive. With five bedrooms, almost twice as many bathrooms, and a chandelier in nearly every room, the house is built to impress. The 11,000-square-foot house on Woodside Drive cost him $4.275 million, and a closer look at the listing photos reveals a few noteworthy items.

Check out the photos at right to see the following details:

    1. Creepy sconces that somehow make a recessed sink look like an altar.
    2. A basement rec room that looks big enough for to host a professional hockey game (street hockey, in this case).
    3. A master bedroom with both a wet bar and a fireplace, depending which mood he wants to set.
    4. A penguin scene etched into the glass of a bathroom sink.
    5. The kitchen's three chandeliers and unusual island: See how one side is constructed to give the impression that it is more of a dining room table than a kitchen workspace?
    6. A backyard swing set in case Ovechkin needs to burn off some energy.

His agent managed to talk the seller down by about a hundred thousand since the original ask was $4,395,000. It's a good thing the guy can play hockey, because he would never have been able to afford this house on his hip-hop skills.
