A travelling Singaporean couple is in the limelight for all the wrong reasons.

According to a report by Singapore site The Real Singapore (TRS), the couple caused damages totalling $1,300 after staying at a Taiwanese homestay inn called "minsu" for a few days back in June.

The couple had allegedly left the tap water running in their en-suite toilet while leaving the air-conditioner on at 16 degree C over two days.

According to the inn's owner, this caused ice to be formed around the air-con duct damaging the cooler.

Items from the Hello Kitty-themed room they stayed in were also stolen. It's also understood that the couple left for Singapore without paying for any of it.

The story has been reported in the Taiwanese media. The homestay inn's owner also provided TRS with a instant messaging screen captures what was said when he tried to contact the couple to make payment.
