The most unstoppable play in NFL history?

What’s the most unstoppable play in NFL history? Here’s a hint: it involves Tom Brady, but it’s not a pass.

It’s his quarterback sneak.

Statistically, Brady has been masterful when he runs the ball on either 3rd or 4th down with two yards or less to go. According to ProFootballReference.com, He has converted an astonishing 109 of 119 under such conditions, a success rate of 91.6%

Hall of Fame running back Curtis Martin was successful on only 65% of such attempts, while bruising back Adrian Peterson has converted a mere 73% with only 11 more attempts. Even more incredible, the average ‘yards-to-go’ for Peterson was 1.18, the exact same as Brady.

Very few quarterbacks come anywhere close to the number of sneak attempts that Brady has compiled. Listed at 6 ft. 5 in. and 240 lbs., Ben Roethlisberger has made half the attempts of a leaner Brady with only a 78% conversion success rate.

While it was only on first down, Tom Terrific successfully converted a QB sneak for a one-yard TD in the Pats 30-6 thumping of the Cowboys on Sunday.
