Bobbi Brown Launches Facebook Campaign to Revive Discontinued Cosmetics

For years, fans of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics have used traditional and social media to lobby for the return of lip colors that are no longer in production. This week, the cosmetics company is launching a Facebook campaign that will let fans do just that.

The campaign will kick off with a video message from founder and CEO Bobbi Brown on Wednesday, inviting fans to vote for their favorite from a list of the 10 most frequently requested colors. Voting is open to consumers in the six countries Bobbi Brown Cosmetics sells to online -- the U.S., UK, Korea, Japan, Germany and Australia -- with support for multiple languages and mobile devices.

After voting closes on Feb. 29, the lip colors with the most support will become available for purchase in the fall exclusively on Facebook. The company plans to reintroduce other discontinued products, including blush and eyeshadow, in the future.

The campaign is one of the most promising "fcommerce" initiatives we've seen to date, one that both rewards brand loyalists and builds purchase anticipation over time, all within the confines of Bobbi Brown's Facebook page.
