    Bobby Brown Returns To The Stage Following Whitney Houston's Funeral

    After briefly appearing at ex-wife Whitney Houston's funeral service in New Jersey on Saturday, Bobby Brown flew to Connecticut to put on a performance with New Edition.

    The concert, which took place at the Mohegan Sun casino's arena, lasted over an hour, and the grieving singer paid homage to Whitney, his former spouse and mother of his 18-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina.

    "I want to give blessings to my ex-wife Whitney Houston. I love you," Bobby told the concert crowd on Saturday night, while pointing upward toward the sky. "I want to give blessings to my kids, my brothers and all of you. Thank you for the love."

    One of Bobby's bandmates offered support, telling the audience, "He was upset today."

    Following the performance, which included Bobby's classic hit, "My Prerogative," the singer - along with a group of family and friends, headed to Bobby Flay's restaurant Bar Americain, according to People.

    Bobby appeared "relaxed and low key as he posed for photos with fans," the mag reports.

    After a brief 20-minute stint at the casino's blackjack tables, Bobby reportedly headed to a seafood restaurant with entourage and fiancée Alicia Ethridge, before heading back to their rooms around 2 AM, according to People.

    As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com , Bobby left Whitney's funeral early on Saturday, looking visibly upset.

    Bobby later explained his departure in a statement to Access Hollywood.

    "My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston. We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions.

    "I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move. Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi-Kristina," the statement released to Access continued. "In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene. My children are completely distraught over the events. This was a day to honor Whitney. I doubt Whitney would have wanted this to occur. I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how."

      Either case, he is the father of her child and regardless of their past, he did have a right for some type any type of closure and say goodbye to his ex-wife. He too had deamons. Keeping in mind we still don't know what happened to Whitney. Let her rest in peace.

        Amen to that sista. The Houston family was wrong but at the end if the day. They have to answer to God no matter what. Its easy to blame others than to exsept it like it was. She's gone let it go that's what they need to do and stop making Bobby look like the bad man. No weapon formed just want work.

      I am starting to believe that most of Whitney's issues were not entirely caused by Bobby but with her family as well... I am sure she loved her family and she loved Bobby too... if they did this to him at her funeral it's no telling how much pressure her family put her under because they didn't approve of her relationship and marriage to Bobby... HAS anyone experience being in a relationship that your relatives didn't approve of... can you imagine going through something like that and the MUSIC BIZ too... wow... well the whole world got to see just how bad that relationship was between family and Bobby and I am sure Whitney fell in love with the man that displayed respect and common sense when treated like an outsider at her funeral.

      Bobby was totally disrespected at the funeral by security who were obviously taking orders from someone assumingly from the Houston family, however we feel about Bobby he was married to Whitney for many years and they share a child together,why do we have to be so hateful and unforgiving..

        Laurence H, u are soo right while we love her some things only we can do for ourselves, to get clean and stay clean was her responsibility,bobby's been gone from her life for awhile now... i never had to walk in her shoes so i'm neither gonna condemn or be judgemental about her, i believe she was a good person

      He apparently showed up with ten people instead of the 2 he was allowed, and refused to make room for closer family members so was asked to move. Three times. It was unfortunate that he brought that many people in the first place, and more unfortunate that room couldnt just have been found and the situation resolved like that. I dont think it was right what happened at all, on anybody's part.

        In my opinion I feel that Bobby disrespectful Whitney and his Daughter by not honor there request to bring 2 or 3 people..If he really wanted to be there for his daughter he should have honor there request on the invitation and bring the number of people stated on the invitation. He did not want to be there because how you going to leave and then go on tour, man please, bobby probably hasn't being his daughter for a long time and maybe just maybe the Bobbi is better without him in her life...My Prayers to Cissy and Bobbi...

        What people fail to realize is that Whitney was a step mom, sister inlaw, cousin inlaw, niece inlaw and Bobby's family loved her as well. Didn't they deserve to say goodbye also. What and where was the respect to allow the normal people who loved her to mourn as well. The hell with the rich and famous.

      May God bless and comfort Whitney's family and friends. From all accounts of her "friends" such as Jennifer Holiday and Chaka Khan to name a few, Whitney was doing drugs long before she met Bobby Brown. Being with Bobby may have caused her to be more "comfortable" to use the drugs in the open. Regardless, as the old syaing goes.."You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink it." May she rest in peace.

This woman had her faults like all of us do but from most interviews I heard from other celebrities she was a good genuine person........ Think about the GOOD people do and not the BAD...........         Alicia and Kat you both are being unfair to Patricia. People all have short comings and there's no reason to hide them it is what it is. The truth sets you free. The fact of the matter is that Whitney battled with her demons half her career and that battle is no more. Yes may she now rest in perfect peace with our heavenly father.

      In times like this, folks need to put aside petty differences, leave the problems at the door and come with the same mentality...the mentality that life is too short and death can come knocking at any moment. Make peace while there's time, because when it's too late, it makes it difficult.
