A woman’s body has been found in an Enfield driveway. Police want to know why she died

Police are investigating a woman’s death in Enfield.

Investigators are at a home on Wallace Street in the Thompsonville section of town, where a woman was found in a driveway early Thursday, Chief Alaric Fox said.

Investigators don’t know the precise cause of her death, Fox said. Police described the woman as middle-aged.

“Certainly unusual, but it’s too early to tell,” he said about 8:15 a.m.

A caller reported having found the woman at 6:40 a.m., Fox said.

Major Crime detectives with the state police were at the scene helping Enfield investigators collect and document evidence. Police were expected to be at the scene most of the day.
