Body found on Galt Ocean Mile beach in Fort Lauderdale

Two beachgoers were taking an early morning stroll along Galt Ocean Mile when they came across the lifeless body of a man in the sand.

The body was found at about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 3600 block of Galt Ocean Drive, where Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue pronounced the man dead, according to Fort Lauderdale Police Detective Ali Adamson.

Police were working to to confirm the man’s identity so they could contact next of kin.

“At this time, there is no foul play suspected,” Adamson said Tuesday.

The Broward Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the exact cause of death.
