Body found in river near Z Boaz Park in southwest Fort Worth, police say

The body of a person was found Thursday morning in a river in southwest Fort Worth, according to police.

A caller told police at around 11:30 a.m. that they were on their lunch break while doing lawn care work when they saw the body in Mary’s Creek, which branches off the Trinity River, in the 5200 block of Old Benbrook Road.

MedStar and the fire department were notified to recover the body.

The person has not yet been identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office and the cause and the manner of their death has not yet been determined.
