Bombing conspiracy suspect's father: son's 'not a terrorist;' FBI bombing probe goes to Russia

BOSTON - The father of a student charged with conspiracy in the Boston Marathon bombing case insists his son is not a terrorist.

Amir Ismagulov, (ah-MEER' is-MAH'-gool-ov) the father of Azamat Tazhayakov (AZ'-maht tuh-ZAY'-uh-kahv), says he has visited his son in prison and, at his son's request, has left flowers at a memorial near the finish line of the Boston Marathon.

Tazhayakov's lawyer, Arkady Bukh (ar-KAH'-dee BUCK) says his client co-operated with the FBI even before his arrest by helping to hand over bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's laptop computer.

Tazhayakov and another friend are charged with removing the computer and a backpack from Tsarnaev's dorm room. A third friend has been charged with lying to federal investigators.

Also Tuesday, FBI director Robert Mueller discussed the bombing investigation with his Russian counterparts during a trip to Moscow.
