‘Bones’ Gets Return Date As Fox Sets Post-‘Idol’ Thursday Lineup

After a four-month hiatus, Fox veteran Bones will return to the schedule on April 14, airing in its most recent Thursday 8 PM time slot. It will be paired with new military-inspired competition series American Grit, which will follow Bones at 9 PM. American Grit also will debut April 14, a week following the two-hour series finale of American Idol on the night.

Starring and executive produced by WWE star John Cena, American Grit follows 16 tough men and women as they are split into four teams and face a variety of military-grade and survival-themed challenges set in the wilderness of Pack Forest in Eatonville, WA for an up-to-a-million dollars cash prize. Cena will be joined by a group of mentors – including Navy Seal Commander Rorke Denver, Army Sergeant Noah Galloway, Marine Gunnery Sergeant Tawanda “Tee” Hanible and Army Ranger Nick “The Reaper” Irving — in the series produced by Leftfield Pictures.

Picking up after the eventful Season 11 fall finale, Bones finds Hodgins (TJ Thyne) eight weeks into his rehabilitation and forced to navigate life in a wheelchair. Meanwhile, Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (David Boreanaz) investigate the death of a public defender who had multiple defendants from previous cases with motives to kill her.
