Botiful Lets You Remotely Keep Your Skype Pal's Face in Frame

If you've ever tried to have a conversation over Skype while doing anything else, you know that it can be difficult to stay within the frame. This may not be an issue for you, but it may be for the person you're trying to speak with. A new gadget called Botiful, allows you to video-chat with ease.

The football-sized robot on wheels is just big enough to hold most Android phones in its magnetized slot. Botiful can be controlled by other mobile devices via Skype. For example, if your mother has a Botiful, she would put her phone in it, and you would be able to control it from where you were. This is especially useful for those who tend to move around a lot while on the phone.

Though, it doesn't just have to be used for phone calls. The robot can also simply be used as a video camera. If you need constant surveillance on a little one, Botiful can follow them around your home while you prepare dinner. You can watch the feed from another mobile device.

Skype comes programed into Botiful, and each robot has its own account. Though, if Botiful meets its Kickstarter goal, it will allow hacking.

Prototypes are already out, the Kickstarter is to fund manufacturing. At the time of writing, Botiful was at $63, 337 -- just over two thirds of it's goal, with 20 days to go.
