Boutique Design New York (BDNY) has issued a call for entries for Trend Walk, a showcase of five future hospitality design trends that will take center stage at BDNY 2011, November 13-14 at the Javits Center in New York City.
New York, NY (PRWEB) July 13, 2011
Curated by internationally renowned designer and forecaster Stacy Garcia, the Trend Walk will showcase five conceptual displays inspired by one of eight future design trends forecasted by Garcia including Acid Hip, Calcified, Modern Rustic, Garden Party, Wild Corners of the World, Speakeasy, Dark Fairytale, and Mid-century Ideal. Each trend will incorporate products exclusively from BDNY and IHMRS exhibitors. Design trend descriptions and visuals are available on the BDNY.com website.
“The Trend Walk is much more than a bridge between BDNY and IHMRS, it is a bridge to the future as well. The approach we took was journalistic in nature, by collaborating with outside designers to envision the concepts without the bias of paid sponsorships. I am excited and honored to be curating this exhibit as a way for attendees to have an exciting peek into the future of hospitality design," says Garcia.
Each of the five winning trends will be provided with 15’x15’ of floor space during BDNY 2011, including 10’ high white walls and a production installation budget of up to $7,000. In addition, the winning design firms and trends will be featured in Boutique Design and Hospitality Style magazines, as well as an accompanying trend brochure for 5,000 show attendees expected at BDNY this Fall.
Submissions are due July 31, 2011. Further details and the official entry form are available at BDNY.com.
BDNY is a joint venture between the American Hotel & Lodging Association, the Hotel Association of New York City, Inc., New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association and ST Media Group, and is managed by GLM.
