Move over, Grandma, take a seat, Aunty, and meet the the world's greatest Wheel of Fortune player.

His name is Robert Santoli, and on Friday, he solved a puzzle with just one simple letter and an ampersand. The clue: "Places." Santoli immediately responded with "Port & Starboard."

While Santoli acted like a mad genius, the key to his success was simple: He studied.

"There are websites that keep track of past Wheel of Fortune puzzles, so I did some research on previous weeks themed toward these things and wrote them down. The show does sometimes repeat puzzles, especially themed ones. 'Port & Starboard' had been used at least twice before my show, both times as a Toss-Up puzzle," Santoli told TapInto.net.

Santoli won $76,000 that night, and easily demolished his opponents in almost every single category. Even the imperturbable Pat Sajak seemed really resentful of his success.

Clue: Hero. Answer: This dude.
