With its wealth of email features, intuitive controls, and appealing interface, Boxer stands out as a remarkable email app, one that is hard to put down once you start using it. Its only downside is that Exchange support costs $9.99.
Pros
Makes email management a breeze: Boxer lets you swipe to quickly archive or delete emails, or bring up an action menu to label, mark as spam, create a to-do list based on the email, or share the email via Evernote. With Boxer's fluid, clean-cut interface, email management becomes much easier, turning from a chore into a fast and even enjoyable experience.
Quick responses: Through the actions menu you can effortlessly send quick responses such as "Thanks!" or "I'll read this later and get back to you," which come in handy when you have dozens of work-related emails every day. What's more, with a paid upgrade you can create your own quick responses.
Works with all major email platforms: This email management app works flawlessly with Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, Outlook, iCloud, AOL, and Office 365, as well as IMAP and POP3 accounts. If you pay for an upgrade, you get Exchange support with active sync as well.
Cons
Locked features: To use multiple email accounts and create custom quick replies and signatures, you have to either pay $9.99 or recommend the app to five different friends. Exchange support is another $9.99 upgrade, though you can get all upgrades for $14.99.
No combined inbox notifications: Boxer can send you notifications, but only for individual email accounts.
Drains battery: Even when you don't actually use it but let it run in the background, Boxer eats your battery. During our 30-minute test drive, it ate over 10 percent of our battery.
