Braga beats Nacional 2-1 in Portugal

LISBON, Portugal (AP) — Braga beat Nacional 2-1 at home to move into sixth place in the Portuguese league on Saturday.

Nacional stayed four points ahead of Braga, and five points out of fourth place held by Estoril.

Braga went ahead through fullback Baiano's sixth-minute opener from a pass by Edgar Pardo before Alan da Costa doubled the lead in the 17th.

Jorge Djaniny pulled one back for Nacional in the 28th.

It was Braga's first win in two games under new coach Jorge Paixao.

League leader Benfica hosts Estoril on Sunday, while second-place Sporting Lisbon visits Setubal and third-place FC Porto hosts Arouca.
