Now let’s look at some screencaps.

This clearly looks like a whole bunch of imperial Storm Troopers lined up with two Sith lords in the center. Obviously it seems the Empire isn’t quite dead after all despite the death of the Emperor in Episode VI.

That’s actress Daisy Ridley, who plays the character Rey, standing in front of what looks like a retooled R2-D2-style android.

And finally, there’s actor John Boyega, who plays a character named Fin who appears to be getting ready to engage in a light saber duel.

There isn’t a ton of new footage here, obviously, but at this point we’ll take absolutely anything we can get.

The Force Awakens releases on December 18th this year and will feature old favorites from the original films such as Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher. Details of the film’s story have been kept under very tight wraps, although it obviously takes place after the fall of the Empire in Episode VI and will involve older versions of the original Star Wars trilogy’s heroes.
