Maholm's MRI reveals no structural damage

An MRI on Braves left-hander Paul Maholm's pitching elbow revealed no structural damage.

Maholm left Florida on Wednesday morning and traveled back to Atlanta to have the MRI after complaining of lingering soreness,, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Rookie David Hale will take Maholm's spot in the rotation and make his major league debut against the San Diego Padres on Friday.

Maholm is 10-10 with a 4.35 ERA in 24 starts for the National League East leaders.
