The book was concieved of when the author, a USN veteran and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, was on active duty and could not find any resources that covered the unique circumstances and challenges that occur while breastfeeding and serving in the armed forces.

    Breastfeeding in Combat Boots is a comprehensive, easy-to-read breastfeeding resource that covers such topics as military lactation policies, separations, emergency weaning, hazardous material exposure, rank and uniform issues, just to name a few. The author’s experience and expertise are evident throughout the book as she gives field-tested tips and techniques, as well as first-hand testimonials from women currently serving, on how best to combine breastfeeding and a military career.

    The accompanying website offers additional information and resources including downloadable content not found in the book.
