Brewer signs with Rockets

The Houston Rockets signed unrestricted free agent forward Ronnie Brewer, the team announced Wednesday.

The Rockets did not disclose the terms of the deal, but Brewer told KRIV-TV in Houston that his contract was for two years.

The 6-foot-7 Brewer spent the 2012-13 season with the New York Knicks and the Oklahoma City Thunder, averaging 3.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in 60 combined games.

Brewer, the No. 14 overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft by Utah, also has spent time with the Jazz, Memphis Grizzlies and Chicago Bulls. His career averages in 478 regular-season games are 8.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals.

The 28-year-old Brewer's best season came with the Jazz in 2008-09 when he averaged 13.7 points and 3.7 rebounds in 81 games.

The addition of Brewer leaves Houston with 19 players on its roster.
