Brewers CF Gomez has elbow surgery

Milwaukee Brewers center fielder Carlos Gomez recently had arthroscopic surgery to remove "loose bodies" from his right elbow, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Assistant general manager Gord Ash said the surgery is not considered serious. Usually, the procedure includes removing bone chips.

Gomez, 27, had a hitting line of .284/.338/.506 with career highs in runs (80), hits (152), doubles (27), triples (10), home runs (24), RBIs (73), stolen bases (40) and walks (37) this season.
