'Brigadoon' star Elaine Stewart dies at 81

Picture, Yahoo. And oh, if you're going to say what movies she was in? Mentioning a role or two might be nice, especially since you didn't include a picture, so we can at least figure out who the lady is.

We can say it till we're all DEAD and Yahoo! will not put in a picture with the story when someone of real talent and relevance dies. YET how many photos of D-List actresses do they plaster???

She played Jane in Brigadoon. I believe that she was the person that Gene Kelly's character was engaged to.

In her day, actresses didn't want to be called "actors" (as they do now). In her day, they wanted to be Movie Stars. Elaine Stewart was a Movie Star. I miss them.

Another real movie star passes and so we're left with less stars and more reality people. I wouldn't call those reality people stars. They're just people on television. No star quality. Oh well.

She was sooooo gorgeous...it is amazing she never became a huge star...many thought she was more beautiful than Tayor or Ava Gardner and frankly, she was. I think she had too much common sense and did not promote herself or care that much about becoming a star ...those who knew or worked with her said she was the most naturally beautiful woman they had ever seen.
May she be with God.

She had a great role in "The Bad and The Beautiful" in 1952, and one unforgettable line. When chastised by Gilbert Roland for criticizing movie producer Johnathan Shields (played by Kirk Douglas) and told "Mr. Shields is a great man," she responds, "There are no great men, buster. There's only men." Classic.
