You can bring Google’s gorgeous new Material Design to your Android keyboard right now

It’s an exciting time to be an Android user, but the latest update isn’t available for your phone quite yet. In fact, most smartphones won’t be receiving Android 5.0 for at least another few months, but that doesn’t mean you can’t start to experience some of what Material Design has to offer. SwiftKey revealed on Thursday two new Material Design themes for its keyboard app, both of which are available right now.

The Material Dark and Material Light themes, as seen above, were designed “in the spirit of the upcoming Android L keyboard.” Of course, both themes still include a few of the features that make SwiftKey unique, such as the ability to type secondary characters by using long presses and the number pad. When designing these themes, SwiftKey wanted to appeal to the same users that enjoyed the Minimal theme.

“We wanted to appeal to Minimal users who like simplicity, but also to add in the handy secondary characters and contrasting number pad, as well as surprising touches of bold color,” SwiftKey explained.

The Material Light and Material Dark themes are available now in the SwiftKey Store for $0.99 each.
