Brooklyn Beckham Tests for Chelsea
David Beckham may be without a football club to call home, following his departure from LA Galaxy and his subsequent return to British shores, but football fans may not have to wait too long before the Beckham name is back on British football fields.
Brooklyn Beckham’s name, that is.

For the 13-year-old son of Goldenballs, as Becks is nicknamed by wife Victoria, is following in the family’s soccer tradition after landing a trial with Chelsea Football Club—arch-rivals of Beckham’s former team, Manchester United.
Maybe it’s Brooklyn’s way of getting some attention back from his brother, Romeo, 10, who recently starred in a Burberry advert wearing shiny shoes and a mini-me version of one of the company’s trademark macs. It must be very competitive, being a Beckham boy.

The revelation of Brooklyn’s Chelsea try-out came after a picture was posted online of David at the Chelsea training ground in Cobham, Surrey, leading to intense speculation that the former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder could be about to sign for the London team (an act of treachery). It subsequently emerged that David was only there to support his son’s try-out, after a fan tweeted, “Ok, so I’ve just picked up that the reason David Beckham was at Cobham today was that son Brooklyn is being trialed for CFC U14s #Phew.”
Proving that the brotherhood of celebrity starts early these days, Becks’s eldest son was trying out with another superstar son, Gordon Ramsay’s boy, Jack. A source told the Daily Mirror, “Brooklyn and Jack went down to Cobham together and are good mates.”

Let’s hope Jack doesn’t take after his father, and managed to keep his f***ing language under control on the pitch.
The two celebrated offspring were among two dozen kids who took part in an under-14 session at the Premier League club’s state-of-the-art training ground.

David, 37, former captain of the England football team, has spoken in the past of his son’s fancy footwork.
Back in 2006, when Brooklyn was just seven, former England skipper Becks said, “Brooklyn is the most amazing footballer. He managed 17 keepie-uppies the other day which for a boy his age is incredible. He’s showing great potential and I think he could go all the way. I’d love it if he played for England… I’m as hard on my boys as my dad was. They always ask, ‘Did I play well?’ I’ll say, ‘You did all right, could have done better.’”

As Romeo’s modeling debut clearly showed, the Beckhams have little desire to keep their children out of the media spotlight. Youngest son Cruz, age seven, was showcased to the world when he came on pitch during a half-time kickabout at one of Brooklyn’s matches in the US back in 2010.
While some may question the wisdom of exposing children to such a level of public attention so early in their life, the undeniable fact is that there’s nothing like a few cute kids for building your brand.

Victoria and David Beckham are doing everything they can to ensure that their children don’t just inherit their wealth, fashion sense and ball skills—they seem determined to hand them on their fame as well.
