Brooklyn Nets-New York Knicks NBA Opener Is Off

Bloomberg told reporters at his press conference that the Nets cancelled their home opener against the rival New York Knicks on his recommendation. Now fan are wondering when the rivals will play again.

For Nets fans: 

Bloomberg said the Nets will kick off their inaugural season in Brooklyn, at the fancy new Barclays Center, against the Toronto Raptors on Saturday night

For Knicks fans:

The Knicks will start their season against the Lebron James, Dewayne Wade and Chris Bosh. Yep, the team more commonly known as the Miami Heat at Madison Square Garden on Friday night, Knicks' Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Glen Grunwald told NorthJersey.com's Steve Popper.

There's no word yet on the makeup date for Thursday's game. The next regularly scheduled Nets-Knicks game is in Brooklyn on Dec. 11.
