Bryan Cranston's clever reply to Florida mom wanting to ban 'Breaking Bad' action figures

Store pulls dolls in response

**Update: Toys R Us has pulled the "Breaking Bad" action figures from store shelves.

Bryan Cranston has responded to the campaign launched by a Florida mom to stop Toys R Us from carrying "Breaking Bad" action figures.

"I'm so mad, I'm burning my Florida Mom action figure in protest," Cranston, who starred as chemistry teacher-turned-crystal meth dealer on the AMC hit television series, wrote on Twitter.

Last week, Susan Schrivjer launched a Change.org petition to ban the action figures from the store. It gathered more than 6,800 signatures and attention from scores of media outlets.

Schrivjer told the "Today" show she was "shocked and appalled" to discover the retailer would carry the action figures, which come with accessories including a gun, tray of crystal meth, hazmat suit and a duffel bag filled with cash from sales of the drug.

"I just think they need to look at their vision and values as they call them," she said.

Toys R Us released a statement defending its decision to carry the "Breaking Bad" toys, saying the "product packaging clearly notes that the items are intended for ages 15 and up” and “are located in the adult action figure area of our stores.”

But critics argue that Toys R Us markets itself as a family-friendly store that should not carry toys that glamorize meth manufacturing.

"In the '80's, they had a slogan, ‘Where a kid can be a kid,’" Andrew Cullison, director of the Janet Prindle Institute for Ethics at DePauw University, told the Christian Science Monitor. "They wanted Toys R Us to feel like a safe space. If you look at their mission statement today, they make it clear that they are focused primarily on helping parents raise children. ... Their website includes as its first customer promise, 'The broadest selection of products to help kids and babies develop, learn, and be safe.'"

The Emmy Award-winning series ran for five seasons before its finale in 2013.
