Budget-Friendly Armageddon: Israel, U.S. And Iran Waging Quiet War

COMMENTARY | With the war in Iraq over and Afghanistan operations serving no purpose, according to info gleaned from these McClatchy and Associated Press stories, it gives me a chuckle when I hear the United States reasserting itself as a Pacific military power. I thought we were a global war machine.

With two wars ending and the staggering $700 billion U.S. military budget needed a new target fast, the vast Pacific seemed like a great idea. As it turns out, though, the Pacific is boring and rather peaceful these days. So, those shifty U.S. generals abruptly decided to send 2,500 troops to vacation in Australia as a show of seriousness about the matter while simultaneously re-aiming their budgets at much more exciting targets, with all guns pointed towards IRAN.

Unfortunately, we might not get to see the usual CNN televised guided missile explosions we're all used to gawking at in return for our hard earned tax dollars.

And like a thief in the night, Israel and the U.S. may already be waging a successful war against Iran that is not so shocking or awe-inspiring and is barely raising eyebrows. I surely expected Armageddon to be a lot more exciting.

The Obama Administration and Israel have been staging a comprehensive military operation using spies, drones and a possible Fifth Column within Iran which creates social, political and media confusion that psychologically paralyzes the country and its ability to respond. Meanwhile, Israel and the U.S. buy time to gear up for a possible precision bunker busting missile attack on all known Iranian nuclear assets which would forever end Iran's nuclear parity ambitions, just in case. Finally, a cost effective military strategy … very 21rst century!

A quick look at recent events reveals, according to AFP, that a U.S. drone was shot down over Iran, the U.K. Embassy invaded in Tehran, Iranian diplomats getting expelled from Western Allied Countries. Network crippling computer viruses plaguing Iranian Nuclear bomb makers, mysterious explosions inside Iran with the Israelis wryly smiling with their hands up with the "Don't look at us, we didn't do it" routine. There have been assassinations, accidents and other tactical operations that separately look like random incidents, yet collectively make it clear that war is being waged.

Does an Israeli engineered fifth column exist within Iran? Have the latest attacks on Iran's nuclear infrastructure point towards a secret force working on behalf of the Israelis moving throughout Iran at will. A fifth column organized, cultivated, motivated and controlled by U.S. Intelligence and Israeli Mossad while the Iranians don't even know it. Wow! Maybe this will be one of the most successful Israeli-U.S. cooperative missions of all time, more successful than Hollywood. A quiet war without creative destruction means no bombs; no bullets, no mass casualties and we still see an end to Iranian nuclear capability. Now that is a budget friendly way to wage war that we can all approve of. In fact, with that kind of success Obama is certain to be reelected.

Interesting how the article also says - "2.2 million US soliders deployed; 6,300 have died; 46,000 have suffered non-fatal wounds; more than 600,000 have filed for VA disability benefits; more than 700,000 have been treated in the VA."
Wonder why this info was left out.
      • Derek 5 mths ago
Probably for the same reason that this person left out the fact that Israel already has nukes pointed at Iran for some time. If I was Iran I would want nukes too. Let us not forget the "Fifth Column/Shah" that the Iranians removed at the cost of over ten thousand lives the first time which sort of pissed them off just a bit....

This is just a roundabout political ad for Obama

Valid analysis and probably true. It would indeed be to everyone's benefit if all this were true and, if history is any indication, it probably is. It would indeed save the day and pave the way toward the elimination not only of Iran's nuclear weapons ambitions but, also hopefully the elimination of this lunatic regime that has indeed made Iran into a rogue -- and very dangerous -- state.

It's Israel that is the racist rogue state in the Middle East.
      • usjustice101 5 mths ago
@Striving: Really? 1.4 million arabs live peacefully in Israel and have parliamentary representation! Christians also live peacefully in Israel! While none of the arab states even allow anyone but muslims in their societies and, have long ago expelled all Jews and confiscated all their property! The only state you'll find Christians is Egypt, and you saw how the muslims attacked and killed scores of them (80 in the first incident, and more than 20 in the second). Sorry, but your info is all wrong. Do some real research, learn some history (past and present) and then talk your nonesense countryboy! You need a REAL education before you come sparring with me coz I'll cut you down with nothing but the truth -- soomething you clearly have no clue about!

@Striving: I hope your id means "striving to learn", not "striving to be an uneducated bigoted idiot", because you sure succeeded on the latter with your post!

The writing style presented is conversational. His sarcasm is subtle and ambiguous, which makes it appealing. The grammar could use some proof work.

Avi Zell - your pathetic attempt at warmongering has illustrated your total disregard for (non-Israeli?) life... Just remember that if the racist rogue state of Israel were to do something as stupid as attack Iran, Iran & Russia (& China) could counter-attack on Dimona. Then you'd have your "very 21rst century! " fireworks show, huh.

"Budget friendly"? Once again, politicians CONTINUE TO PROVE they're filth! It's not about war & losing lives, they're hesitant to go to war because of funding only!

Which high school yearbook did Y! pull this from? Poorly written, full of snide opinion and containing very little fact. If I wanted innuendo and self-serving #$%$ I'd watch CNN.

I don't want to block someone blessing. There are people in need. Remember the poor. My desire is that one day people will surrender their hearts to God. This is the ultimate life fulfillment. Outside of Jesus there is no hope. Rejoice the day of the Lord is near. I'm looking forward to the day that I'm sitting in the New Mount Zion. Bless Jesus. Bless God. Amen!

"...and he began by saying to them, "Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing." Luke 4:21

Oops looks like Jesus was wrong about that if you're still waiting for that day.

God! If only this article was more than wishful thinking. So much better to read about seasoned CIA operatives and mercenaries getting killed and maimed rather than young men and women just out of High School! Perhaps a blueprint for all future wars?

Quote: "Does an Israeli engineered fifth column exist within Iran?"

Absolutely not. The Israelis do not have a fifth column in Iran, or any other country for that matter. Any subversive forces in Iran are probably the doings of the CIA, or the UK's MI6.

Let the Israeli's do it, we will mess it up and send them a "we are coming card" and then have to hold off for a few days so we can load up the journalists.

The war in Iraq is by no means over. They are just waiting for the U.S. to exist. everything else in this article is wishful thinking.

If you can read this article and the adjoined news reports and not feel your anxiety meter shoot up, then you're a zombie. Shame this news isn't making much media coverage. Don't be surprised if Iran retaliates.
