    California: Avioneta se queda sin gasolina; aterriza en autopista

    ESCONDIDO, California, EE.UU. (AP) — Una avioneta con cuatro personas aterrizó en una autopista del sur de California luego de quedarse sin combustible, dijeron las autoridades el lunes.

    La avioneta Piper 1968 aterrizó a salvo alrededor de las 11:30 de la noche del sábado en los carriles de dirección sur de la autopista interestatal 15, en Escondido.

    El agente de la Patrulla de Caminos de California Jim Bettencourt dijo al servicio de noticias City News que el tránsito era ligero y que la aeronave no chocó con los autos.

    Sin embargo, Bettencourt dijo que una camioneta pickup tuvo daños menores al rozar el ala izquierda de la avioneta una vez que había aterrizado.

    La avioneta monomotor fue empujada a un lado de la autopista, donde permanecía el lunes por la mañana a la espera de ser removida. Todos los carriles estaban abiertos.

    Bettencourt dijo que el piloto, Ken Gheysar de 48 años, se dirigía al aeropuerto de Palomar, en Carlsbad, cuando la avioneta se quedó sin combustible.

    Escondido está a unos 50 kilómetros (30 millas) al norte de San Diego.
