California man apologizes for Arizona bus crash
PHOENIX (AP) — A California man accused of attacking the driver of a Greyhound bus and causing it to go off Interstate 10 in Arizona is apologizing for some of what happened.
In a jail interview with KNXV-TV (http://bit.ly/1aEFVYM ), 25-year-old Maquel Morris of Los Angeles denies striking the driver but says he's sorry that passengers were injured when the bus went off the highway west of Phoenix.
Authorities have said Morris struck the driver and attempted to take control of the steering wheel. The bus went into the median before passengers helped the driver regain control.
In the interview, Morris says he had used methamphetamine several days earlier.
Morris also acknowledges breaking down the barrier between the passengers and the driver. He says he really wanted to get off the bus.
