All lanes reopen on Howard Frankland Bridge after car fire

All lanes on the Howard Frankland Bridge heading into Tampa have reopened after a car fire on the northbound span that caused delays in both directions on Interstate 275 Monday morning.

By 7:20 a.m., all lanes of traffic were open on the bridge in both directions, according to a tweet from Spectrum Bay News 9 Traffic.

The fire on the northbound span of the bridge prompted first responders to close all but one lane at about 6:15 a.m., according to a tweet from Tim Wronka of Spectrum Bay News 9.

By about 6:55 a.m., two northbound lanes were still blocked, Wronka tweeted. Traffic was also backing up on the bridge heading toward Pinellas.
