Casey Anthony Release Date Recalculated -- but What Happens Then?

Orange County Corrections Add 4 More Days to Anthony's Jail Time

Casey Anthony will have to wait a few more days to celebrate her release from the Orange County Jail where she has been incarcerated since October 2008. According to CNN, even though her release date was to be Wednesday, July 13, Florida Orange County Corrections officials, after going over the numbers and calculations, have found that they miscalculated by four days. She will now be released on Sunday, July 17.

In a statement from Orange County Corrections public information Allen Moore, "a detailed recalculation of the projected release date" had resulted in a new date, albeit one not in Anthony's favor. There was no explanation of how the recalculation was made, if it was a mistake in the original calculations, or if some factor was omitted or added that was not part of the initial calculation.

Regardless, Anthony's release date was moved back by four days.

On Tuesday that release date had been in jeopardy of being a death row sentence. However, the jury in the Casey Anthony trial, after deliberating 11 hours, delivered a "not guilty" verdict on the charge that she had murdered her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, shocking nearly everyone in attendance and the millions that had been following the developments and the trial via the media. She was found "not guilty" of manslaughter and aggravated child abuse as well. The jury did find her "guilty" of four misdemeanor counts of lying to police.

At sentencing on Thursday, after Judge Belvin Perry gave her the maximum sentence for the four charges and after hours of calculations that considered time already served in jail, Anthony was told that she would be released from jail on July 13. She was also fined $1,000 for each count.

But what can the now 25-year-old mother expect upon her release? Interviews? Book deals? Movie deals?

According to TMZ, Anthony has already received a movie deal from Vivid Entertainment, the adult entertainment company famous for releasing porn videos from Montana Fishburne and Kendra Wilkinson. That offer was quickly withdrawn after public backlash sent the company in retreat. Vivid founder Steve Hirsch noted that the offer was made because it was felt Casey Anthony would probably have a difficult time adjusting and Vivid could help her "transition into a new life." The amount being offered was not disclosed, but other high-profile personalities had made deals with Vivid totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars (with royalties and riders that netted millions). But the "overwhelmingly negative response" made it "obvious to us that Vivid fans, and people in general, want nothing to do with her and that includes a XXX movies," Hirsch told TMZ.

Many, like Fox News contributor and crisis management expert Gene Grabowski, said Anthony could look forward to a $1 million interview deal with a major network. He also said that he didn't recommend she take that path, however, because of her reputation as an "unsympathetic figure and a known liar."

Still, it is generally seen as a given that Anthony will attempt to capitalize off of her infamy, much like O. J. Simpson and Amy Fisher did, doing interviews and writing books -- if only to stave off court costs, lawyers fees, and civil suits. Anthony already faces a civil suit with regard to one of her lies to the police -- that of the story of the babysitter that abducted Caylee, where a Florida woman named Zenaida Gonsalez was arrested and underwent interrogation as the suspected "Zanny the Nanny." Texas Equufax, the equestrian search team that spent hours looking for Caylee, have contemplated seeking recompense for their efforts. Orange County and Florida officials have also pushed the idea of charging Anthony for services rendered during the wild goose chases inspired by her lies.

As to her personal life, that seems to be an unknown. It is seen as doubtful that she will return to her parents' home outside Orlando, especially considering the accusations that the defense team made in opening arguments that her actions were the result of emotional, psychological, and sexual abuse perpetrated against her by her father, George, since she was 8 years old.

Jean Caesarez of tru TV's "In Session" asked Cheney Mason, a member of the Anthony defense team, where the newly exonerated Anthony would go once freed from jail. "He told me it would not, with all seriousness, be back to her family home."

But an advance on a $1 million book deal or interview (or even some type of movie) would be enough for Casey Anthony to go just about anywhere she wants.

The jury in this case should have agreed to disagree. A hung jury would have allowed the state to re-try her. The prosecution would have been able to present their case differently. The jury knows she was guilty of something in the death of her daughter, but not exactly what. She may not be going to prison, but we can stop her from profiting from this. If the public would let the tv execs. and the publishers and movie people know that we refuse to watch any interview, movie or to read any book from which she would profit then they would not take a chance of losing money. it is not like she would tell the truth anyway, anything she said would be a lie and would put the blame on other people. We need to not forget the important part of this story which is CAYLEE, she lost her life at the hands of the one person who should have been willing to give her life away to protect her daughter. Casey will get what is coming to her, either in this life or after. If you should see Casey after she is released let her know how you feel about what she got away with, let's make her as uncomfortable in life as possibe without breaking the law.

she murdered her daughter and got away with it our justice system needs to interview the jurors better to make sure they understand the laws completly and the meanings of reasonible doubt
      • Jason D 10 mths ago
Exactly. They don't udnerstand what reasonable doubt means or that circumstantial evidence is enough for a conviction. Most people think "circumstantial evidence" automatically means "bad" or "not good enough".

IF THOSE JURORS HAD ANY ' COMMON SENSE ' THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO FIGURE IT OUT FOT THEMSELVES. THEY WERE JUST STUPID MORONS. BRAIN DEAD IDIOTS. SELFISH BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO GET HOME TO THEIR FAMILIES AND VACATIONS. ( JUST TO DAMN BAD 'CAYLEE" COULDN'T DO THE SAME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    • daisy  •  10 mths ago
Why would anyone want to interview her anyway? She only knows how to lie, so they aren't going to get the real story anyway. I have also been wondering who is paying for her legal fees? Were they court appointed?? I never heard this.

Casey will be released from jail July 13,not July 17. They need to sneek her out thus saying the later date to throw people off.

Well if there's any good news to come of this, it's that she will have no shot at a good job (if any) and no place to live.

don't believe she killed that adorable little girl & NOW she's getting RICH on it.... WHO EVER SAID "CRIME DOESN'T PAY" horrible!!!!!!
    • Miss V  •  10 mths ago
Those jurors were in a hurry and one had a cruise so they just said not guilty. They also did not follow the judges orders not to take opening statements as fact. They are a bunch of idiots. Its ok like OJ and Van der sloot karma will come knocking on Caseys door.
    • Suzy  •  10 mths ago
Ms. Anthony was simply the recipient of some incredibly good luck (for her) by virtue of the fact that her jury just didn't understand reasonable doubt. They let her go because no one was able to prove to them beyond any shadow of any doubt that she killed that child. Perhaps if the case hadn't been so high profile they jusry wouldn't have been so nervous.

I vote JULY 17-America pays tribute to CAYLEE ANTHONY DAY. Please America, regardless of your opinion of the jury, put the focus on the little girl on July 17, do not put this nobody in the limelight as she relishes. Do something with your children, take them to the park, church, swimming etc. tie pink ribbons on trees. Companies & manufactures-donate a portion of your proceeding for the day to go into the cause of searching for missing, abused & exploited children. Churches host family events any proceeds that maybe made going to help children or orphanages or purchasing something for the children of your church. News media-do not cover anything-picketers do not pick. Keep her & attorneys out of the limelight.
Whats in future-IF AMERICANS DON'T BUY, business do not profit. The public eye is who makes or breaks the film, tv, manufacter companies and keeps celebrities in high demand. Americans don't buy and avoid news station or programs, television stations, boycott products that sponsors any commericals run during these programs, boycott magazines, books & their publishers who print any books. Lack of sales, lack of low ratings and lack of interest in general is the only thing that will stop offers from pouring in and millions being made off a tragedy of a 2 year old child. Come on America, together we hold still the power.

    • Miss V  •  10 mths ago
oh and let me add I think we need an aptitude test given to potential jurors before putting them on such a case as this
    • Bertha  •  10 mths ago
I would be glad to pay for her transportation to Salem Mass if the fire is ready!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Caylee is dead people, she is not the only child to be murdered Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
    • Jamie  •  10 mths ago
any network/interviewer/publisher/hollywood agent crazy enough to offer her a deal will have to deal with a serious boycott in their hand. Somebody should start a facebook page keeping track of any deals she may get!
    • Dillinger  •  10 mths ago
Since she got away with murder, the best punishment for her now is not to offer her any interviews, book or movie deals. Let her go on a wild goose chase looking for a job so that she wishes she were back in the slammer getting free room and board. No one in the right mind would hire a maggot like that. She cannot be trusted.
    • babeca  •  10 mths ago
no books...no interviews...nothing. This girl should not make one penny - really her claim to fame is that she is a compulsive liar that was last seen with her two year old daughter and now her daughter is dead and she has shown no remorse and gets to go on with her life ... possibly as a millionaire???? really?? Just because someone wants to be the first to get an interview with a LIAR??? Does anyone really believe that she would be honest in an interview??? Why does our society make celebrities out of these types of people?
