    CBS “60 Minutes” Spotlights Lex Products Employee Success Story in Report on America’s Unemployment Crisis

    With 4 million American workers facing long-term unemployment, CBS "60 Minutes" highlights the country's unemployment crisis and grassroots efforts to help job seekers regain employment.

    On February 19th, CBS newsmagazine “60 Minutes” aired a segment titled, “Trapped in Unemployment.” The piece focused on the United States’ unemployment crisis and exposed a growing discrimination against long-term unemployed job seekers by American companies.

    “Platform to Employment,” a Connecticut-based organization that helps unemployed workers advance their skills through education and training, was featured for its achievement in helping jobless workers land new positions. One of the program’s ‘graduates,’ Diane Graham, who joined Lex Products Corporation as an accounts receivable assistant in October 2011 after over two years of unemployment, was highlighted as a “Platform to Employment” success story. The segment covers Ms. Graham’s story and her first day at Lex Products.
