    Back in 1986, Earthbound Farm co-founders, Drew and Myra Goodman, began washing and bagging a week’s worth of greens to ensure they had access to a fresh salad every night. When a cancelled order from a local chef prompted the entrepreneurs to sell fresh organic spring mix at retail, pre-washed packaged salads were born. Twenty-five years later, produce departments across the country prominently feature assorted fresh packaged salads for health-conscious consumers, making salad a simple and accessible option on a daily basis.
