A weekend of film presentations and cinema education workshops

The two-day family film festival runs Saturday, January 25th through Sunday, January 26th.
Toted as a festival where "education and imagination collide," the event presents animated, live-action, short and feature length films. The festival attracts submissions from the international community, culminating in a full line-up of high-quality, family-friendly, culturally-diverse films. Almost 50 films will screen in the Center's full-dome planetarium and IMAX style theatre, including shorts like Hello Kitty in Space a school project that went viral in 2013 by Antioch resident Lauren Rojas, to feature films, like Wallace and Gromit in: A Grand Day Out.
The weekend will also include hands-on cinema workshops. Berkeley Community College will run animation, pixilation, and claymation workshops and will screen some of their creations during the fest. Additional artists include: Mat Jones, who will run a sketching workshop, and HowTunes, who will guide zoetrope building.
